But the hotel was terrible and I soon decided that even if I won, I lost. I simply put everything on either red or black and if I won, my vacation was free. Resorts World New York City is the only casino in NYC, offering guests an unparalleled gaming and entertainment experience. I stayed there a couple of times and used my "gambling money" at the roulette tables. Stupak made millions by using direct mail to sell Las Vegas vacations for $395 (sometimes higher) and giving an equal amount in gambling credit coupons to the buyer which had to be placed on even money bets at his tables. In the 1980's, the Vegas World became a successul casino and a huge moneymaker. The Vegas World was built by Stupak on a small site on the far North strip that once had been a car lot. It filed for bankruptcy nine months later. It was replaced by the Stratosphere and its tower (the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River at 1,150 feet) in 1996. Founded by crazy LasVegas promoter, Bob Stupak, the Vegas World opened in mid-1979 (on a Friday the 13th, no less) and closed in 1995.
